Our Journey So Far
Doorstep Library is set up as a pilot project in Hammersmith and Fulham – coordinated by the anti-poverty NGO ATD Fourth World. Run by Agnes Paroissien and funded by All Saints Church, Fulham.
Doorstep Library is formally launched as a charity. Funded by Hammersmith and Fulham Council, and funding from charitable trusts, the organisation launches with one project, one member of staff and a team of just four volunteers.
Doorstep Library continues to grow, expanding to five projects across Hammersmith and Fulham.
Doorstep Library expands across London – opening our first project in Westminster.
Doorstep Library expands across London – opening our first project in Lambeth. The project is set up in partnership with LEAP with a focus on early years intervention – sharing reading and books with children aged 0-3 years.
Doorstep Library turns 10! We are now running 14 projects in 3 London Boroughs. We have seen 1300 children since we first launched. To celebrate our 10th Birthday we launched our #WhereDoWordsTakeYOU? campaign.
Doorstep Library launches its Online Reading Corner – an online reading service to support families even when we cannot be there in person. This has never been more important than during the COVID pandemic.
